Perlite-based plaster

Overview

Perlite-based plaster is a lightweight dry mortar in which sand is partly or fully replaced by expanded perlite, giving a plaster coat with thermal insulating properties.

The air-filled perlite granules lower the density and thermal conductivity of the plaster, so the applied coat helps insulate the wall and places less load on the structure. As a mineral material, the plaster is non-combustible and vapour-permeable, which lets the masonry breathe and limits condensation.

It is applied by hand or by machine. The type of binder, the coat thickness and the consumption are set according to the substrate and the requirements of the job.

Applications

  • Insulating plaster for walls and ceilings
  • Thermal upgrading of existing buildings
  • Reducing thermal bridges
  • Fire protection of building elements
  • Lightweight base coat for finishes
