Expanded perlite
Ultra-lightweight mineral aggregate for thermal insulation, plasters and lightweight concrete.

Overview
Expanded perlite is a white, very light granular material obtained by rapidly heating perlite volcanic rock, which expands to up to 20 times its original volume.
Its air-filled cellular structure gives it low thermal conductivity, and its mineral nature makes it non-combustible, chemically inert and resistant to mould. It is stable over time: it does not rot and does not attract pests.
In construction it is used as an aggregate for insulating plasters and mortars, for lightweight screeds and concrete, or as loose-fill insulation. The same properties make it valuable in horticulture, filtration and industrial insulation.
Applications
- Insulating plasters and mortars
- Lightweight screeds and concrete
- Loose-fill insulation for floors and roofs
- Passive fire protection
- Horticultural substrates
- Filtration and industrial insulation
